WHO WE ARE

The Quality Division of the Universidad de La Frontera came to life in 2017 as a dependent unit of the Vice-rectorate of Academic Affairs. Its mission is to face new challenges of our Institution in order to promote quality in the University and lead its organizational change. We want to develop the concept of quality in all areas of interest for the University Community.

At the moment, the Quality Division is developing a comprehensive UFRO quality management system and is in charge of the coordination of institutional self-assessment processes. In the near future, it will support the self-assessment processes of the programs, provide training services and collaborate in the execution of continuous improvement projects for the units, in accordance with mandates given by the General Quality Council.

MARTHA TERESA RAMÍREZ VALDIVIA

QUALITY DIRECTOR


My passion for quality started when I designed a Quality Assurance System for a cold meat company and I consolidated this passion as the National Coordinator of Quality Assurance for the Economy and Development Ministry in Nicaragua. I combined my postgraduate studies with my experience as a Project Engineer at a North American consulting firm, in administrative positions at the UFRO and professional assessments for regional companies. Being the first Quality Director of our institution confirms my commitment to continuous improvement and the fulfillment of accreditation criteria established in the current legislation. Therefore, I can contribute to the process of transforming our UFRO into the best university in the south of Chile.

CRISTINA MARDONES CORREA

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER


During my career as a psychologist, I focused on work teams in educative organizations of public, private and third sector in Chile, USA and Germany, where I learned from organizational cultures that generate an increased well-being in their work teams. Thanks to that, now I manage the development of an institutional quality culture that benefits the excellence of the UFRO community.

QUALITY AND PROCESS MANAGER


At the UFRO, I have specialized my knowledge in the field of quality assurance and I have applied it to the industrial sector, preschool education services and now to higher education. I want to contribute with a new perspective to the development of a quality management system, in order to make a positive change in the value given to each user of this system.

LIDIA RIFFO GUTIÉRREZ

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT


I have acquired part of my experience as a Translator and Interpreter at ProChile and La Silla-Paranal Observatory in Antofagasta, Chile. I have worked in the public and private sector, specializing in the administrative and logistical support. At the moment, I am working as a Bilingual Executive Assistant at the Quality Division and my goal is to facilitate and become a contribution to the achievement of valuable results for the work team and the university.

MARÍA JOSÉ PAINÉN PAILLALEF

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER


I have collaborated in the design and management of university projects oriented to the renewal of fields of interest in higher education, such as the professional training, research and University outreach. It motivates me to generate important results for public regional education and to be part of an organization that takes seriously the challenge of consolidating the principles of quality assurance in the daily work.
